Cubs Outline Programme Spring 2010

Cubs

  • Jan 7 Games – play some, invent some!!
  • Jan 21 Fitness Challenge – check your diet and try to improve one thing. Test your fitness.
  • Feb 4 Chinese New Year – learn how to celebrate the event with a friend from Hong Kong.
  • Feb 18 Half term week – I am trying to organise a trip to do climbing & caving at Craggy Island, Sutton
  • Mar 4 Making pancakes and cooking them on top of a tin.
  • Mar 18 Emergency Aid – how good would you be in an emergency? Learn some useful skills. Plan for puppet show next week.
  • Apr 1 Make simple puppets and put on a play for the other Cubs.

  • March 15 Global Challenge badge – planting seeds. Bring a friend (who is not a Beaver) to join in the fun.
  • March 29 Creative Challenge badge – make chocolate Easter nests. Last meeting of term.

Summer BarbeQue / AGM

Scouts Cubs Beavers

You are invited to the Annual Summer Barbeque

on Thursday 21st May 2009 at 6.30pm

at All Saints Church hall

Forget cooking at home, bring the family for supper and hear about the Group’s activities during 2008.

Book your BBQ places or there may not be enough food! Sausages, salad & dessert – how can you resist!

Tickets are £3 for adults and £2 for children. Please book by phone (8549 5064) or e-mail lynn@mmphoto.demon.co.uk by Tuesday 19th May to reserve tickets.

Wine and soft drinks will be available.

The Group’s Business meeting will start at 7.30pm and a film will be shown to entertain younger children.

Scout Troop Programme Summer 09

Scouts

April 26 Sunday – District St George’s Day parade, followed by training afternoon
    at Petersham & Ham HQ.
  30 Shooting at Twickenham. Details to follow
May 14 Games & challenges. Scouts to discuss Code of Conduct
  15-17 Water Activities weekend at Thames Young Mariners, Ham
  21 Group BBQ & Business meeting, Invitations soon.
June 4 Cycle route around Richmond Park with checkpoint challenges.
    Meet at park Gate, 7.00pm, with bike & cycle helmet.
  18 Boating on Thames. Meet on towpath by Richmond Bridge at 6.30pm to
    get life jackets, ready to be on river at 7.00pm. Return at approx 8.30pm
July 2 Outdoor Challenge activities at normal meeting place. Meeting will end at 8.15pm
    for those Scouts not taking part in Borough Camp. Scouts going on camp
    will get out camping equipment and finish at 9.00pm.
  3-5 Borough Camp, Walton Firs.
    See separate letter.
  16 Games in Richmond Park.
    Meet at park Gate at 7.00pm.
    Last meeting of term.

 

Autumn Term starts on 10th September 2009

All of the activities this term count towards the various Challenges in the badge work scheme. For full details of what the Challenges involve, look on the Association web site at www.scouts.org.uk which also includes news, games and activities.

May 7 Activity Badge “market”. Find out if you could do some activity badges at home.
  19 Tuesday – possible visit ti Lifeboat Station, Teddington. To be confirmed.
  21 Group BBQ & business meeting, Invitation soon.
June 7 Sunday – Pirate Fun Day at Frylands Wood Scout site, Croydon
  11 Creative Challenge – making kites.
  25 Kite flying at P. Common ( see scout leader for details ).
July 4-5 Borough Camp, Walton Firs site, Cobham – details in separate letter.

 

9 Meet at Sheen Gate, Richmond Park for a quiz trail. Last meeting of term.
